Water

Daffodils prefer evenly moist, well-drained soil while actively growing and flowering. Water regularly during the blooming period, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Once the foliage begins to yellow and die back, reduce watering as the bulbs enter dormancy.

Care Level

Daffodils are easy to grow and require very little maintenance. Water during active growth, remove spent flowers after blooming, and allow the foliage to die back naturally so the bulbs can store energy for the following spring. Divide crowded clumps every few years to maintain vigorous flowering.

Optimal Temperature

Daffodils thrive in cool temperatures between 10–18°C (50–65°F) during their active growing and flowering season. They require a period of winter chill to produce healthy roots, vigorous foliage, and abundant spring blooms.
