Water

Water deeply and consistently, especially during the first 1–2 years after planting and during hot, dry weather. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings, but do not let it become completely dry. Mature apple trees are relatively drought tolerant once established but produce the best fruit with regular moisture. Avoid waterlogged soil.

Care Level

Apple trees benefit from annual pruning, regular watering while establishing, seasonal fertilizing, and routine monitoring for pests and diseases. With proper care, they will provide beautiful blossoms and abundant harvests for many years.

Optimal Temperature

Apple trees grow best in cool to moderate temperatures between 15–24°C (59–75°F) during the growing season. They also require a period of cold winter temperatures to satisfy their chilling requirement and produce healthy blooms and fruit the following spring.
